"Creepy Green Light" is a song by Type O Negative, included on their fifth album World Coming Down, released in 1999. This song was formerly titled "Spooky Green Light" before it was renamed while the album was in production. The choruses resemble the typical style of Alice in Chains. It is about a spouse rising from the grave on Halloween night.
This song is split into three cantos—the first and third cantos are titled "Creepy Green Light", and the one in the middle is titled "Frightening Black Night". The middle is instrumental featuring an organ followed by doom metal riff over it, so all the lyrics are sung during the first and third cantos.
"Creepy Green Light" is the first of three singles released from World Coming Down.
Lyrics
[Canto I: Creepy Green Light. "{{{2}}}"]
This Halloween
So unlike any other
Her final words
Don't be afraid
Of the green light
Of the green light
Green light
Baby
On muddy ground
I'm lying drunk on her grave
Where I must wait
Until she wakes
The soil splits
Greenwood's ground will quake beneath me
And so shall take into the earth
To the green light
To the green light
Baby
The autumn air
Thickly fills my lungs so sweetly
Reminds me of her smoky breath
With wine and this bouquet of maple and oak leaves
In death or life we'll always be
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
Ah
[Canto II: Frightening Black Night. "{{{2}}}"]
[Instrumental]
[Canto III: Creepy Green Light (revisited). "{{{2}}}"]
This moonlit night
Late October's swirling fog gloom
And as promised my love did rise
From the green light
From the green light
Green light
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
This moonlit night
Late October's swirling fog gloom
And as promised my love did rise
From the green light
From the green light
Green light
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
I find myself drawn to her shadow domain
Quiet, quiet, quiet
