This article is to document Peter Steele's live and studio bass guitar setup during his time playing in Type-O Negative.

Bass guitars.[edit | edit source]

Washburn M10 bass (black with green fittings)[edit | edit source]

These models were only made from 2001-2003 in a very limited number. Peter Steele's model has a single MusicMan MM Style pickup at the bridge position. He used this bass until his final performance.

Alembic spolier bass (burl finish)[edit | edit source]

A bass that Peter used early in his career, possibly pre- Type O Negative.

Fernandes Tremor 4 string (Green)[edit | edit source]

The bass is seen being used on the Life is killing me tour.

EHS stinger (Black with green fittings)[edit | edit source]

He is seen playing this bass at the Dynamo open air in 1995. He used this at the start of his career with Type-O.

Rickenbacker 4003 (Natural finish)[edit | edit source]

He is seen holding this in an interview for ''American Nightmare'' , the bass is missing its neck pickup.

'Steele Bass'[edit | edit source]

This bass is sometimes referred to as the Rickenbacker / Fernandes fusion. It is a custom bass built for Peter.

Boss DS-1[edit | edit source]

In existing photos of Pete's pedalboard you can see this pedal present. The knobs on Peter's Ds-1 appear to be glued in place. A sticker is placed over the front portion of the pedal that reads ''Distort'', it's unclear if Steele wrote this or if it was the work of a tech.

Boss CH-1[edit | edit source]

In existing photos of Pete's pedalboard you can see this pedal present.A sticker is placed over the front portion of the pedal that reads ''KA-Whore-is'', it's unclear if Steele wrote this or if it was the work of a tech.

In existing photos of Pete's pedalboard you can see this pedal present. A sticker is placed over the front portion of the pedal that reads ''D-LAY'', it's unclear if Steele wrote this or if it was the work of a tech.

Boss TU-3[edit | edit source]

In existing photos of Pete's pedalboard you can see this pedal present. There is a yellow label over the bottom half of the pedal, nothing appears to be written there.
