"Prelude to Agony" is a song by Type O Negative, included on the first album Slow, Deep and Hard, released in 1991. This song is about raping the girl. The first canto, "The Truth", is instrumental. The second canto, "God Love Fire Woman Death", has stoner metal riffs. The third canto, "Jackhammarape", features a grinding jackhammer and a woman shrieking. The fourth canto, "Pain (Is Irrelevant)", has dirge-like riffing then a mechanical device used to inflict serious injury to incapacitated victims with female screams then some male screams.

The altered version of this song, "Pain", which is the partial title of the fourth canto of this song, is included on their second album The Origin of the Feces.
